Acoustic Treatments involves improving room acoustics, the 'natural sound' of the room, with various materials and or installation or modification of  audio components.

Briefly, sound waves radiate outward from the speakers much like ripples though water. Hard surfaces, like windows, cinder blocks, and tiled floors causes the waves to bounce back thus making the volume level increase undesirably. Also, having a room with irregular dimensions can cause sound to be harsh and brittle in one area and sound lost and cavernous in another, even at a short distance apart. A room with cinder block walls, low flat ceiling, hardwood floor, and several corners (where the walls, ceiling, or floors meet), can make even the best performer sound extremely disappointing.

The application of either diffusing or absorbing material will help control the undesirable effects the room lends to sound. Absorbing material will damping those high frequencies that can cause ears to ring for hours after the performance or event. Diffusing materials are helpful for "living up" areas that sound unnaturally flat or "dead". There are many options available depending whether the treatment is to be permanent or temporary and most importantly, your budget!

We at Vertical Sound are an authorized dealer of Auralex Acoustics. Along with correcting the room acoustics, the safety of the audience and performers is the utmost important factor when installing material. Auralex tests the flame retardancy in an independent lab with verifiable test results. There are many types, sizes, textures, and colors of materials. Some are extremely decorative so you can have function and form that can be very pleasing to the eye.

We will happily consult with you about what your needs would be!
